Arts Club Announces Fall 2011 Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes

Calling All Foodies

The Arts Club Theatre Company is pleased to announce its fall series of Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes, running from October 4 to November 17. The chefs will teach by example, preparing unique and elegant four-course dinners, paired with wine. These fundraising evenings, to be held at different designer homes in and around Vancouver, benefit the Arts Club, a not-for-profit organization.

Each class starts with a celebratory glass of wine, an amuse-bouche, and introductions. Guests are then encouraged to assist in the preparation of components of the meal. The menus are planned to highlight seasonal produce, with wine pairings to complement the dishes. Featured wines are from top Okanagan artisan wineries, including Ganton & Larsen Prospect Winery, Mission Hill Family Estate, and Rigamarole.

The fun and informative format of the classes allows guests to have unparalleled access to some of the finest chefs in Vancouver.

The lineup of chefs in the fall series reflects the diversity of eateries in Vancouver: from classical French cuisine served at Bridges Restaurant and refined small plates produced at Boneta and Cru Restaurant to New York–style bistro fare at the Gramercy Grill and the global influences on show at Joey Restaurants. Each chef brings a different culinary point of view, making all the classes a one-of-a-kind epicurean adventure.

This season’s lineup of talented chefs:

Tuesday, October 4                   Alana Peckham, Cru Restaurant
– wine pairings from Mission Hill Family Estate
Wednesday, October 19            Shane McNeil, Bridges Restaurant
