New Orleans Inspired Cocktail List at New Orleans Prices

Refuel Bar Manager Rob Scope recently returned from Tales of a Cocktail 2010, an internationally acclaimed festival of cocktails, cuisine and culture held annually in New Orleans, Louisiana. In an effort to bring a taste of New Orleans to Vancouver Rob Scope announces a New Orleans inspired cocktail list at New Orleans Prices. Scope encourages guests to join him at the refuel bar to hear his tales of New Orleans and the history behind the drinks while sipping on a 2oz Sazerac or New Orleans Fizz for $5.

New Orleans Cocktail List (2oz for $5)

Sazerac

tale – one of the oldest known cocktails with it’s origins in pre-civil war New Orleans,

the Sazerac is the official cocktail of New Orleans.

Alberta Springs 10yr rye, Peychaud bitters, simple syrup, lemon peel

New Orleans Fizz AKA Ramos Gin Fizz

tale – invented in New Orleans at Meyers Restaurant by Henry C. Ramos. It became so popular,

the bar manager had to hire “shaker boys” just to shake this cocktail.

Bombay Sapphire, cream, egg white, lemon, lime, simple syrup, orange flower water, soda

“The Rose”

tale – circa Hotel Roosevelt, a Sazerac Bar inspired cocktail.

Hendriks Gin, lemon, basil, muddled cucumber, rose water, elderberry flower syrup

Old Fashioned

tale – arguably the first cocktail to be called a “cocktail”, served in a 8-12 oz glass known as an old-fashioned glass.

Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Angostura bitters, simple syrup, orange slice, kirsch cherry
