Cooks to Thrill at EAT! Vancouver

Prairie proud and primed, acclaimed CHARCUT Roast House co-chefs and owners John Jackson and Connie DeSousa prepare to dazzle culinary crowds on the Food Network Celebrity Stage, June 10 + 11

John Jackson and Connie DeSousa, co-chefs and owners of Calgary’s popular CHARCUT Roast House are gearing up for live cooking demonstrations on the Food Network Celebrity Stage –  Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 – at this year’s EAT! Vancouver Food and Cooking Festival. Held at the new Vancouver Convention Centre, this event is a food aficionado’s dream that includes: interactive culinary experiences; opportunities to learn behind-the-scenes cooking tips and tricks from professional chefs; celebrity chef cooking demonstrations and culinary competitions; diverse food, beverage and cooking related exhibits; and shopping opportunities.

Jackson and DeSousa are looking forward to sharing their unique and thoughtful brand of culinary expertise with audiences at the ninth annual festival. The CHARCUT duo will demonstrate two signature menu items: House Made Goat’s Cheese with Okanagan Hazelnuts and Fried Artichokes and Pig Head Mortadella with Pistachios and Truffle.

“An event of this nature fits nicely with what we do every day at CHARCUT,” says Jackson. “Promote food provenance, share culinary insight, and provide an educational experience to people who enjoy eating well. We are thrilled to be participating.”

Jackson and DeSousa join a gifted array of chef talent including BC’s own Rob Feenie; former Galloping Gourmet host Graham Kerr; and DeSousa’s fellow competitor on ‘Top Chef Canada,’ Dale MacKay.
