Feature Cocktails – Extended Hours – Big Giveaways
On Friday, June 11, the highly anticipated 2010 FIFA World Cup kicks off in South Africa. Donnelly Pubs are primed to be the city’s most popular venues for catching all the World Cup action.

From June 11-July 11, Cinema Public House and Library Square Public House open at 7am, showing games at 7:00 am, 9:00 am, 11:30 am, 5:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The Calling Public House, The Lamplighter and The Academic open at 11:00 am, showing games at 11:30 am, 5:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. While taking in a World Cup game, guests may enter to win a trip for two to the Champions League final in 2011 held at Wembley Stadium in London.

In addition to its menus of inventive, fresh pub fare, DHM Pubs will serve full English breakfasts and pints, perfectly paired with World Cup soccer. What’s more, DHM’s Bar and Beverage Director Trevor Kallies has crafted a roster of innovative, World Cup Cocktails. Inspired by exceptional figures in soccer, each cocktail evokes the spirit of its namesake’s country through the use of native ingredients. Pele, Brazil’s most iconic soccer export, inspired a cocktail of Cachaça liqueur, crushed watermelon, simple syrup and fresh lime juice. Northern Ireland’s Georgie Best, meanwhile, was the inspiration behind a cocktail of Jameson, muddled orange wedges, simple syrup, mint leaves and ginger beer.

Game-day features for members of DHM’s soccer program include: ballots to enter for a trip for two to the Champions League final on May 28th, 2011; chances to win FIFA World Cup team jerseys and soccer balls; burger and a beer for $11; and 20% discount off regular price food items.
