yeti (1)

Yeti Soft Cooler and Wine Tumblers

The coolers from Yeti are all very durable, but we like the soft ones as they actually fit in the car when you’ve got a lot of other luggage! They’re made from rugged material and are built for extreme conditions. The material is waterproof and leakproof and come with backpack straps for easy trekking. The wine tumblers are durable and chip proof and can go in the dishwasher for easy clean up. $399

Dames Brut

Wines from Les Dames d’Escoffier and The Wine $30-$40

The Wine Umbrella’s Mireille Sauve has now made three vintages of fabulous wine with funds going to Les Dames d’Escoffiers’ scholarship program which provides funds to women studying wine and culinary courses. We gave away $50,000 last year.

The newest two include the Dames Brut 2017 that is 70% Pinot Blanc and 30% Riesling from a Certified Organic Vineyard in Kelowna. This is a great wine for holiday canapes, oysters and, as she suggests, hot tubs! She’s also made wine under The Wine Umbrella, this one is called the 70/40 Red Blend and is a blend of 70% Cabernet France and 30% Pinot Noir. It’s light in body and has aromas of blackberry, strawberry and a bit of pepper. This complex wine is great with French bistrot fare such as duck confit and cassoulet.
