GUY-FAWKES-TOBERFEST New Westminster Re-Up BBQ

GUY-FAWKES-TOBERFEST:   A Fanciful Un-Holiday for the Late Autumn blues

We love RE-Up BBQ and are saddened to hear that a member of their team is having some serious medical issues. BUT, you can help by atteding this feast and entering a meat draw with funds going to the family in need.

At the Guy-Fawkes-toberfest Re-Up will cure your Autumn blues with sausages, sauerkraut and sides, even a dessert or two! Steel and Oak Brewing Co will be providing the beers as well. Another New West business we love!

guy fawkes

As a child we’d host Guy Fawkes parties and throw Mr. Fawkes onto the fire. A very strange way to spend an evening, but then again he did try to blow up the parliament buildings! There won’t be a bonfire or sacrifice, but I guarantee they’ll be BBQ!

7:00pm Thursday, November 12th
at River Market in New Westminster

TICKETS: $30 pp — every last penny goes to our staff member in need (see below).
Kids 5-12 are $10 and teens 13-18 are $15. GREAT family friendly event.

MEAT DRAW: A raffle for a a giant basket of Re-Up BBQ smoked meats and bacon too. ALL money raised will go straight to the family!

What’s this all about? Re-Up BBQ invented a late fall holiday that they’ve called Guy-Fawkes-Toberfest where you can come as you are, or masquerade if you wish! There will be sausages, sauerkraut and sides, even a dessert or two! Steel and Oak Brewing Co will be providing the beers. All of the proceeds go to a very worthy cause.

From Re-Up BBQ:

Last week, one of our staff and a New West local came to us (after about 9 months of medical issues and severe difficulty working) to break the news that he has just been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He and his wife are both students and they are raising a beautiful toddler girl. Given that he hasn’t been able to work much as the disease is in an active phase, and his wife is supporting him while trying to raise a kid and finish her masters in social work, the family is challenged with finances.

Upon hearing this news, we are pledging to donate 100% of ticket sales and meat draw money directly to the family to furnish them with 2-3 months of rent and bill payments. We hope this will allow them to concentrate on building new habits, eating right and taking a moment to breathe. They are a smart and resourceful family who have been hit by a bump in the road. Let’s all rally together and make sure they can rise to the challenge that greets them instead of getting buried in bills they can’t handle at this time.
