Mangia e Bevi Making the World a Better Place With Classic Italian Cuisine

West Vancouver’s Mangia e Bevi Ristorante is busy preparing for the 3rd annual charity event, BACIO to be held January 2010.  Guests can support important medical research while enjoying the sumptuous traditional Italian cuisine.  In addition to the three-course dinner menu featured throughout the month, this year’s BACIO event will end with a special finale dinner on January 31st.

Restaurant owners Antonio Sauro, Robert Parrott, and Doug Grisdale started the BACIO (Because a Cure is Obtainable) event in 2008.  In the past two years they have raised a total of $27,300 for the Lions Gate Oncology Clinic and BC Children’s Hospital Oncology Research.  They plan to increase the total substantially this year by tempting guests with an irresistible three-course menu for the attractive price of $40.

This year the BACIO menu will change weekly, featuring the cuisine of a different region of Italy every seven days.

January 2-8:  NORTH – Piemonte and Veneto

January 9-15:  WEST – Toscana and Lazio

January 16-22:  EAST – Abruzzo and Marche

January 23-30:  SOUTH – Campania and Sicilia

The January 31st dinner, called “Mangere, Bere, Vivere” (to eat, to drink, to live) will consist of four courses paired with complementary wines, plus a silent auction, for a truly fitting finale to a month of incomparable Mediterranean flavours.
