Calling all Vancouver rum lovers…August 16th is National Rum Day!
Did you know that more rum is sold in Vancouver during these warm summer months than any other time of year? And did you also know that rum was originally called the Kill Devil and used to clean hair and keep it healthy in the 1800s!

One of Vancouver’s top mixologists, Lauren Mote and the bartender team from The Refinery is bringing sexy back – Flor de Cana …Rum has chosen us to host a huge event for them on August 16 to celebrate National Rum Day. Simultaneously, rum lovers from across North America will toast their refreshing libations amongst friends. What better place to mingle with friends than the Refinery!

What’s drinking: $5 rum cocktails – this includes a new list of cocktails, using homemade falernum, orgeat, gingerbeer and bitters. Have you tried our gorgeous Rum Old Fashioned yet? You will.

What’s eating: Guest Chef Jonathan Chovancek from Culinary Capers Catering will be lending a hand and roasting style to Refinery’s Ben de Champlain as they conquer the ultimate Rum inspired menu for rum lovers with their cocktails!

What’s the cost: Admission is free!

some classic rum cocktails and new cocktails for their own National
Rum Day celebrations – this happens at 8:20 am sharp Monday August 16! She will even give away a National Rum Day
prize pack that contains all the essentials for a great celebration
including VIP swag, and GCs to the Refinery on National Rum Day!
