New Westminster’s signature summer event, The Key West Ford Show & Shine is once again gearing up to offer car enthusiasts of every age an impressive display of custom, classic, vintage and speciality cars and trucks.

Scheduled for Sunday, July 14th, the Key West Ford Show & Shine will close New Westminster’s busy Columbia Street to traffic, allowing tens of thousands of guests to interact with car experts, collectors, merchants and the community. The event is completely free and runs from 10am to 5pm.

“We are extremely proud to be associated with the annual Show & Shine” says Key West Ford General Manager Adam Isfeld. “The event draws huge crowds each year and is a great fit for our brand. We plan to have a large presence at the event and showcase our great line of vehicles including our exclusive high performance Roush Mustangs.”

Kendra Johnston, Executive Director of the Downtown New Westminster Business Improvement Association says the event has grown to become one of the summer’s most anticipated events.

“We see over 100,000 people come from all over BC, Alberta and even Washington State,’” says Johnston. “Whether it’s to check out the amazing cars, enjoy the live entertainment or simply take in the community atmosphere, the Key West Ford Show & Shine has earned a place on the list of great, free things to do during the summer.”

In addition to the colourful display of cars, trucks and this year’s addition, bicycles, local merchants will turn Columbia Street into a gigantic street fair with a wide variety of food options, beer gardens and bustling patios. Food trucks by Beaver Tails, Chronic Tacos, ReUp BBQ, Triple O’s and Urban Wood Fired Pizzas will be onsite to feed hungry visitors.

The event is presented by the Downtown New Westminster BIA in partnership with the City of New Westminster.

Johnston says car buff or not, the event is often a hit with a wide variety of people given it’s diverse range of attractions and it’s proximity to public transit.

“We see large numbers of people from all over the Lower Mainland come for the cars, but leave their own cars at home. Now in it’s 14th year, the New West Key West Ford Show & Shine offers the chance to celebrate this amazing city, it’s people and vibrant business community.”
