New West's Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest

Food trucks, beer, a farmers market, entertainment and a gym? Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday in New West.

RiverSky by Bosa Properties presents the 3rd Annual Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest on Saturday August 22! Enjoy even more trucks, more entertainment, more beer gardens and more space stretching an extra two blocks this year. This will be an even bigger street party than last year!

Our Community Sponsor Vancity will help us showcase The Best of Downtown New West, Downtown New West’s best eateries for a unique taste all our own. Don’t miss Boston Pizza‘s Pizzing Eating Contest for your chance to win FREE pizza for a YEAR! Columbia Street Sandwich Company, De Dutch, El Santo, The Hideout Cafe,Old Crow Coffee, Rain City Juicery, Save On Foods and Tre Galli will be showing off their stuff plus Sider Strength Gym will help you burn off those extra calories so you can make room for more food!

Our friends at the Royal City Farmers Market are back again this year, featuring 15 vendors including: Solodko Ukrainian Bakery, Delish Gluten Free, Kicks Lemonade, The Salt Dispensary, Sweet Thea, The Local Churn, S&B Gluten Free Inc., Marie’s Guilt Free Bakery, Russian Spoon Bakery, Bubble Bombs Specialty Foods, Sidney Smoke House, 604 Food Co., BobAli, The Better Self, Better World Food Company and Sweet B Brigaderia.

The creative girls from Brick & Mortar present the Chalk Spot, a sidewalk chalk area for artsy kids. Located on McKenzie Street at Columbia Street from 4pm-7pm. Chalk will be provided, just bring those creative kidlets! *weather permitting.

Entertainment:

If 70 food trucks (plus 30 more food outlets) wasn’t enough, we have some great entertainment lined up! Class Act Rap (improvised freestyle rap), Emily Harder (Canadian singer/songwriter), Six Strings & a Saxophone (local New West jazz duo), Mooshy Face (upbeat, hooky pop rock power trio), and our friends at Royal City Swing will be teaching you some swingin’ moves! Thanks to our buds at the Arts Council of New West, two tents featuring: Rolan and Emma Nip (father/daughter guitar playing duo), Old Mare’s Chris Janzen (alternative country/folk), The Alvair Trio (3 piece acoustic jazz band), David Akselrod and many, many more! Beer Gardens:

What’s a food truck fest without beer gardens?! Anvil Centre’s Tap & Grapes isn’t your conventional beer garden as it will be located inside but with their huge ceiling to floor doors wide open, there will be great connection to the street. They will have a live band, Mellomanic, and feature local concoctions from Steel & Oak and Pacific Breezy Winery. The Columbia Theatre will be set up on the street again but will keep the theatre open for those who need some a/c and shade. The Heritage Grill beer garden is back and this year with a live band outside, the Stingin’ Hornets! The Met Bar & Grill is also coming back, this time with FREE samples from Growers!

Located on Columbia Street just steps from two Skytrain stations (New Westminster and Columbia Station), don’t miss the biggest one-day food truck festival in Canada!

Parking – along with street parking off of Columbia Street, there are multiple parkades in the area: Anvil Centre and Shops at New Westhave ample parking available.

Admission is FREE – bring your friends and bring your appetite!
