PC Garden Centre Sources from 100% Canadian Growers

Throughout the summer there’s always some replanting that’s needed on our little balcony and that’s generally husband Michael’s role, part of the jokingly blue vs pink jobs that we have a home (trust me it’s a total joke there are no defined sexist roles around our abode). PC Garden Centres makes this easy and he’s just somehow better at arranging things and keeping them watered, and always knows that I need marigolds, one of those flowers that just make me so damn happy.

It’s easy to replenish your garden with a quick stop at a PC Garden Centres, where plants are conveniently labeled as to whether they need sun or shade and  products are affordable and all products sourced from 100% Canadian growers.

You can pick up all your gardening supplies quickly and efficiently should your watering can be leaking, or you need some extra soil, and it’s still not too late to pretty up your garden this year, even in mid-July.

On our last trip picked up a combo planter and mixed herb arrangement.

I’m trying to get my work patio in order, which will have to wait to August when we take over the whole patio with Satel Creative as we’re expanding and will now be in both offices that share the patio. For now I’ve got the herb planter out there so we can fancy up our salads when the need occurs.

If you’d like to start or add to a patio garden of your own do remember these key points:

1) Light – Make sure your plants are made for the light you have – check those tags!

2) Drainage – Make sure plants have drainage so they don’t drown. Add holes in pots it there isn’t sufficient drainage.

3) Plant Feed – They do need food as well as water. We use President’s Choice Magic-Grow.

4) Don’t be scared to cut back dying parts of your plants so that the healthy parts may live.

5) Repot when plants are getting crowded – you can divide some plants into two pots too.

6) Use lots of potting soil, not gravel or filler.

7) Water frequently

8) Plant herbs together and use organic fertilizer on things you eat.

Here’s a fun resource for container gardening for food too!
