Joan-E is the creation of Entertainer Robert Kaiser. Joan-E hosted Vancouver’s longest running drag show, “The Feather Boa Show”, for 15 years at the Odyssey Nightclub and she now hosts each long weekend Sunday at Junction. She hosts Bingo for Life every Wednesday at Celebrities Nightclub and is a contributing writer for V-rag.She continues to do film and TV work and is a past “Leo Award” nominee and Joan-E’s charity work, has resulted in, a U.S. Congressional Award, The Golden Jubilee Award of Merit from Queen Elizabeth II and an accollAIDS award.
In 2010 Joan-E was inducted into Canada’s Queer Hall of Fame.
DEVANA DEMILLE
With over 20 years of performing experience (she started when she was 6…you can stop laughing now), Devana brings fun and creativity to all of her performances. Iona Whipp was born in a van on a Saskatchewan highway not so many years ago. Since then, she has skyrocketed to performer extraordinaire. Iona has a deep love for the stage and 11 years of musical theatre training behind her. Last yearher role in the successful run of “La Cage Aux Folles” at The Vancouver Playhouse was added to her resume along with her starring role “A Chorus Line” at Royal City Musical Theatre.Recently crowned “Vancouver’s Next Drag Superstar”, Iona is a model, actress, singer but dance has been, and always will be her true passion.ODDREE MAYORMAYNOT
Oddree Mayormaynot is a drag queen on purpose. She describes herself as “a fierce queen for equality”. She recently gained international media attention in a public kiss during Okanagan Pride with Kelowna’s mayor Walter Gray who had previously refused to make a Pride week proclamation. As co-chair of Okanagan Pride 2012 she orchestrated the largest community and business partnership for the festival in its six year history.As the most recognizable face of the Okanagan Rainbow Coalition (ORC), the non-profit society behind Okanagan Pride, Oddree was out and proud with Okanagan Pride, leading a flash mob, enlightening a spiritual congregation, and emceeing PRIDE 2012’s family day picnic & pooch parade. Proud to be a voice for equality, Oddree’s debut was in June 2012 at an ORC fundraiser that netted $4,000 where she emceed and entertained with stand-up comedy. Inspired by Lady Gaga and songs like ‘Whatever Lola Wants,’ Oddree is a saucy blonde (brunette or redhead!) who’s experienced the disillusionment of “religious persecution” first hand at her family’s church in Calgary during the ’90s. She uses her experiences coming out and living out to entertain, but more importantly to connect with and bring together Okanagan’s LGBT communities, foster equality and build bridges in the community.Oddree is the creation of Wilbur Turner who grew up on a farm in “red-neck” Alberta and recently moved to Kelowna to open the Clarance House Bed and Breakfast.
