Stop Bouncing Around – Get The Right Sports Bra With Diane’s Lingerie

Diane’s Lingerie Gift With Purchase – Anita Panty & Sports Bag with Any Anita Sports Bra until January 28, 2017

Diane’s Lingerie has been my go to for bras every since I discovered them a few years ago. The bra fitter is an expert and checks to  guarantee you’ve got the right fit. Don’t be shy, the health of your breasts is at stake here, and a good bra can make the difference in looking just okay in an outfit, or looking spectacular.

Diane's Lingerie

I just bought an excellent supportive day to day lacy bra (Melody by Empreinte) before Christmas and it’s made a world of difference.  I know boobs as I’m well beyond a C-cup and need support while torpedoing through the day at top speed and when heading out on the town in a fitting garment, or even a loose one. Proper bras not only put breasts in the right place, but also prevent stretching of connective breast tissue and restrict movement that can cause back, shoulder & neck pain.

It’s even more important to wear a well-fitting, high quality sports bra as our bodies and breasts move far more when we’re active. I’m moving lots lately and needed to update mine, so don’t forget that they don’t last forever. Our breasts are made up of fatty tissue surrounded by skin and fragile ligaments. Ligaments can be broken down over time and they won’t bounce back and good bras prevent this. You also need fabrics that allow your skin to breathe and generally support your body, all which will enhance your workout routine.

Diane's Lingerie

There are a number of great bras at Diane’s Lingerie and I just picked up the Anita Momentum Sports Bra. Bonus deal, until January 28 you’ll also receive a free sports bag and panties. AND they super lovely looking too, in fact mine is bright red! Sorry no pictures, but I’m training pretty hard right now, so you never know, I might do some modeling later in the year (ah…right). Do make sure you go expecting to spend a little time trying on a few and don’t be shy when it comes to receiving help from the consultant. They know their stuff here and I guarantee they have seen so many breasts they won’t be judging anything but the bras fit!

More on Salontea

I have a thing for the ritual of afternoon tea.  Something about taking a break and snacking on mini this and thats alongside a good pot or two of tea just does it for me.  It’s an especially good time to catch up on friends happenings, spill a little gossip and all this comes without a hangover.  This spring when Tracy Stern SALONTEA  opened South Granville, I and other tea lovers had another spot to enjoy the process at 3010 Granville Street.

Sarah Ambrose is the woman behind this boutique.  She saw SALONTEA President, Tracy Stern on Bravo Television and was drawn to the story of the tea and tea parties. She contacted Stern, they formed a partnership and she now distributes the extensive selection of teas, accessories and tea beauty care throughout Canada as well as running the tea boutique.

The tea house has more than a dozen estate blended teas and customers can enjoy daily tea service alongside baked goods sweets, salads and sandwiches.  Also available at the boutique: signed-copies of Tracy Stern’s popular book, ‘Tea Party: 20 Themed Tea Parties with Recipes for Every Occasion, from Fabulous Showers to Intimate Gatherings’.

Mark Taylor Breathes Mediterranean Life into South Granville with Siena

Vancouver diners can now head to Siena, a casual Mediterranean restaurant, opening its doors on 12th avenue in the trendy South Granville area . Seasoned restaurateur Mark Taylor (owner of CRU on Broadway) is the man behind this inspired new eatery, bringing his wealth of restaurant experience to Siena’s tables at welcoming neighbourhood prices.

Community is bound to bond in this cozy, warm dining room, rich in décor with wood and toasty Siena colours. A long common table fills the centre of the room, inviting the spot’s regulars and newcomers alike to mingle as they sit and order from the ever-changing chalkboard menu which allows for fresh daily ingredients to be featured.

Guiding customers through a meal of varied bruschette, salads, pastas, risottos and more is a youthful team of friendly professionals and, with Sommelier Mark Taylor at the helm, customers can expect a wine list worthy of praise. With an emphasis on by-the-glass offerings, Mark brings together a small, well-chosen collection of great values from the Mediterranean regions of France, Spain and Italy.

Beginning early February, Siena will serve dinner seven nights a week, from 5 to 11pm and, once its feet are firmly planted on the ground, it will open for brunch too, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 11am to 3pm. A short walk from the Stanley theatre, play-goers will be pleased with a perk of 15% off the food bill when the evening’s show tickets are presented for pre-theatre dining.

When asked about the main differences between his award-winning CRU and the new Siena, Taylor sums it all up, “CRU is linen, Siena is wood.” Siena has a personality all its own – it is Mark’s dream of a busy, casual restaurant that is inspired by the essence of the Mediterranean, come to life. “I love Mediterranean food!” he says, “It’s healthy, it’s delicious, it’s regionally sourced. Isn’t that what everybody wants?”

Siena breathes Mediterranean life into the bustling community of South Granville Street. Doors open early February, 2012 – stroll in anytime!
