What’s Good This Week(end) June 2 Edition

What To Do In And Around Vancouver

This week has been a bit crazeballs! I’ve had a ton of client work and then events and more events that I just had to go to. Thankfully the weekend is slowing down, at least for me, but there’s a few things I wouldn’t miss.

VCBW Beer Festival | Saturday, June 3, 2017 | PNE Fairgrounds

The eighth annual Vancouver Craft Beer Week Festival is back at the historic PNE Fairgrounds on June 3 and 4 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, featuring 100 craft breweries and cideries pouring more than 300 beers and ciders. In addition to Canada’s largest selection of craft beer and cider offered in one place, the VCBW Festival features art installations, live music, DJs, food trucks, market stalls, brewing demonstrations, a games area with pinball and foosball, a pop-up barber shop, and more. Named ‘Vancouver’s Best Beer Event’ (Georgia Straight Golden Plates, 2013–2017) and ‘Social Event of the Year’ (2016 Golden Owl Awards). Tickets include two drink tokens (more can be purchased at the festival for $1.50 each) and a 4 oz. souvenir taster mug. Website: vancouvercraftbeerweek.com

June is Rosé month and Wines of Provence kicks-off this celebration with a free tasting of Provence Rosés at the 39th & Cambie Signature Liquor Store (5555 Cambie Street, Vancouver, BC) on Saturday, June 3 from 2-5pm.

Casper Nap Tour

On its second year, the Casper Nap Tour will bring to life a truly Canadian theme in celebration of the country’s 150th Anniversary of the Confederation. From a Muskoka Chair rest area to a Tuck-in shoppe turned pre-nap pit stop, Casper is crafting an inherently Canadiana experience just in time for summer. The Casper Nap Tour will be travelling across the country, setting up roadside in four select cities: Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. BC Greenhouse Veggie Days celebrates the annual springtime arrival of locally grown greenhouse veggies from BC’s 42 Greenhouse Growers located throughout the Lower Mainland. During the long, dreary winter months our greenhouses are full of activity as new seedlings mature into ripe crops. The fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce and more are harvested and arrive in stores with the spring.
