Can you Taste it? Annual festival is selling out indulgent weekend events…

Today, The Main Event uncorks Taste: Victoria’s Festival of Food and Wine.   Selling out swiftly, this popular event celebrates Vancouver Island cuisine and British Columbian wines.  The third-annual festival, known for its culinary consciousness and integrity, launches with an evening of local tasting and grazing featuring the cuisine of chefs who walk-the-talk plus 36 BC wineries.  Last minute tickets for the 6:30 p.m. event are available at the door with sales beginning at 1:00pm, Crystal Garden, 713 Douglas Street (near Belleville).  Proceeds from the event will go to The Land Conservancy, an organization with a strong future vision of the region’s food scene.

Tickets are still available for weekend events; Sips and Seafood at Inn at Laurel Point, Swine and the Vine at Hotel Grand Pacific, A Guided Tea Journey and Tasting at Silk Road, and Land and Sea Harvest on the Family Farm, a white-linen dinner hosted by the Marina restaurant in the middle of a farm field at Vantreight Farm.  Purchase online www.VictoriaTaste.com.  Come out to meet the local winemakers, chefs, artisan producers, farmers and fishers – all key players making Vancouver Island a vibrant culinary destination.

Many events have already sold out, such as Vancouver Island vs. The World, Sustainable Seafood at Finest at Sea, and Band, Bubbles and Bennys. Taste has received an unprecedented level of community support and is proud to be in its third year.
