imagesWhat will you be bringing to the table this summer? Summer is in full swing and is being served up hot at the seasonal edition of The Irish Heather’s popular Long Table Series. Every Sunday & Monday night at 7:00pm, Gastown’s favourite gastropub hosts up to 50 people at their 40-foot long communal table, for a satisfying social dining experience with a seasonal twist. Every week brings new people to the table – tourists and locals alike. Don’t be shy; it’s time to take a seat and get cozy with your new neighbour!

Bringing together friends old and new, the Long Table Series was originally created as an alternative dining experience when the recession was biting hard and the unique ‘home away from home’ experience has endured at a great price. For only $16 (including an artisan beer), you get a hearty “Sunday Dinner” style meal that is sure to be Mom-approved.

The new lineup of LTS dinners will kick off Sunday August 11th with a delicious Sunday Roast: Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Potatoes and Gravy. New to the Long Table Series is “Meatless Mondays”, part of a campaign supported through Vancouver’s food policy council that calls on people to forego meats one day per week. On Monday August 12th, the first LTS Meatless Monday will feature a vegetarian and vegan menu: White Bean and Mushroom Croquette with Red Pepper Coulis, Pickled Mushroom and Local Lettuce Salad.

Upcoming Long Table Series events include Sunday Roasts & Meatless Mondays on August 11, 12, 18 & 19. Stay tuned for some upcoming Pit for Your Supper events (peaches in August) and some Wild Card LTS events (think Whiskey & wine). The Irish Heather is located at 212 Carrall Street, Vancouver BC. Email reso@irishheather.com to reserve a spot at the table for only $16 per person (including an artisan beer) + taxes and gratuities. Visit itsmenu.blogspot.ca for more details and to view the full schedule.

The Irish Heather is Vancouver’s most authentic and traditional Irish pub with wallpaper hand-made in Ireland, floors made of Guinness barrels reclaimed from the Guinness brewery in Ireland, original Irish period posters and the best Guinness pour in town. Located in the heart of historic Gastown, this gastropub has garnered many accolades for its service, food, drinks and ambiance. In a world filled with “Plastic Paddy” establishments, the Heather stands out as a beacon of authenticity. A true Irish House that is owned and operated by Irish people.
