V LAUNCHES NEW BESPOKE MIXOLOGY MENU

Concept from Earls Kitchen + Bar enables guests to design their own cocktail

Earls Kitchen + Bar launched a brand-new bespoke mixology menu at V, the brand’s upscale lounge concept adjacent to Earls Yaletown, enabling guests to design their own signature cocktail. Guests can select from a list of 30-plus premium spirits, five classic cocktail recipes (Sour, Gimlet, Fizz, Collins or Rickey) and any combination of house-made syrups, fruit purées, fresh fruits and vegetables, and herbs and spices to build a drink that’s tailor-made just for them.

According to Cameron Bogue, beverage director for Earls Kitchen + Bar, the direction promotes both guest satisfaction and the chain’s commitment to fresh, never-processed ingredients.

“Ensuring our guests get exactly what they order has always been a core part of our philosophy,” explained Bogue. “Our new focus on bespoke mixology takes it one step further, by encouraging them to customize their beverage from start to finish with nothing but the best ingredients.”

Seasoned sippers and wannabe mixologists alike can choose from thousands of possible combinations to craft their perfect cocktail, including organic and gluten-free spirits, house-made syrups (sugar-free vanilla is certain to be a hit with the bikini-conscious crowd this summer) and fresh-squeezed juices.

Favourite combinations include:

  • Collins (built tall with fresh lemon juice and soda, served over ice) with strawberry purée, fresh-picked basil leaves and Rain Organic vodka
  • Gimlet (shaken with fresh lime juice, served up) with fresh pineapple, jalapeno and Don Julio Blanco tequila
  • Fizz (shaken with fresh lemon juice and egg whites, served over ice) with house-made rosemary syrup, fresh orange and Bombay Sapphire gin

The addition of Remix Thursdays to the venue’s daily line-up of live music and drink specials sees select custom cocktails, plus signature favourites like the Strawberry Blonde, Madagascar Vanilla Sour and Berry Lick, feature-priced at $4.99, as well as an all-request DJ spinning throwback tracks all night long.

“We’re all about making mixology totally approachable and fun,” added Bogue. “Guests don’t need to be expert bartenders, or even have particularly seasoned palates, to enjoy this menu. All that’s required is a good sense of adventure.”
