Although his career has been driven by hospitality, he is still captivated by performance. <strong>As all the proceeds from East of Main Cafe are donated to Project Limelight Society, <\/strong>a free performing arts program for kids from the Downtown Eastside<strong>, he has found the ideal venue to feed his two passions.<\/strong> Simply called \u201cBarguy\u201d by his colleagues, Turner is an avid contributor to Vancouver\u2019s outstanding bartending community. He is an <strong>active director of the Canadian Professional Bartenders Association <\/strong>and spent the last six years of his career as <strong>Bar Manager at the award-winning Cin Cin Restaurant.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great time to be a bartender in Vancouver,\u201d said Turner. \u201c I am thrilled to be a part of moving our cocktail culture forward, and <strong>East of Main Cafe will provide a forum for me to mentor young bartenders within the community<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As bar manager, Turner will\u00a0create and maintain a cocktail program that is approachable and innovative,\u00a0oversee the hiring and training of bar staff and is responsible for inventory and\u00a0controlling liquor cost. He will work alongside Proprietor and Manager Donalda Weaver to ensure service standards are high and guests are well taken care of.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About East of Main Cafe:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nestled on the border of historic Chinatown and Strathcona, the East of Main Cafe impresses instantly with high ceilings and original works prominently featuring images of the Downtown East Side of Vancouver. This vibrant cocktail spot showcases an array of hand-crafted classics and original creations utilizing ingredients that complement the cuisine.
