In its sixth year, the\u00a0Fraser Valley Food Show<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0October 4, 5<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a06<\/strong>, 2013 celebrates its biggest year ever with the 2nd\u00a0annual\u00a0Great Canadian Sausage Making Competition<\/strong>, 11th annual\u00a0Master Chef Competition<\/strong>, first ever\u00a0Gluten Free Living Show<\/strong>, and the Lower Mainland\u2019s favourite food personalities.<\/div>\n

At the inaugural\u00a0Great Canadian Sausage Making Competition<\/a>,\u00a0Viktor Kozak<\/strong>\u00a0of Sedo\u2019s Old Fashioned Butcher Shop & Deli was named the Professional Division winner for his Salami, and\u00a0Robin Brooks<\/strong>\u00a0of Dressed to Grill Gourmet Meat & Poultry took home the People\u2019s Choice Award for their Kielbasa. On\u00a0Saturday, October 5<\/strong>, dozens of professional sausage makers from all over B.C. will offer a total of over 100 sausage entries in 12 different categories, \u00a0ranging from chorizo to bratwurst. The first 500 visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the\u00a0People\u2019s Choice Award sampling<\/strong>\u00a0of the competitors\u2019 sausages at\u00a011:30am<\/strong>, with a glass of Erdinger gluten-free beer to wash it down. There is a nominal fee of four tasting tickets or $2.00 cash to participate in the tasting program. (Beer is served only to adults 19 years and older).<\/p>\n

Executive Chef\u00a0William Tse<\/strong>\u00a0cooked his way to the top in last year\u2019s\u00a0Master Chef Competition<\/a>, hosted by the B.C. Chefs Association. Chef Tse pulled off a surprise appetizer course in addition to entr\u00e9e in the final cook-off round. At the 11th\u00a0annual\u00a0Iron Chef<\/i>-style competition, Tse will defend his title against 16 other competitors in this gruelling black box competition.<\/p>\n

Fresh from his latest cookbook,\u00a0Rob Feenie\u2019s Casual Classics<\/i>, and the new Coal Harbour location of Cactus Club Cafe, Executive Chef\u00a0Rob Feenie<\/b>\u00a0will delight attendees on theCelebrity Cooking Stage<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Friday<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Saturday<\/strong>,\u00a0October 4<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a05<\/strong>\u00a0with his latest culinary creations, always\u00a0 bringing out the best in Fraser Valley ingredients.<\/p>\n

Guests can discover, taste, learn from, and buy these hard-to-find items.<\/p>\n
