Clayoquot Unplugged \u2013 A Unique Gig for Good, June 19 to 22, 2014<\/b><\/p>\n

Here is your chance to chill with top Canadian vintners, chefs and performers in one of the most beautiful destinations in BC, while making a difference for youth and families.<\/p>\n

This year,\u00a0 guests arriving\u00a0 for four days and three nights,\u00a0Thursday, June 19 through Sunday, June 22, 2014<\/b>, will be hosted by\u00a0Terry David Mulligan<\/i>, fed by\u00a0Chefs David Hawksworth<\/i>\u00a0of Hawksworth Restaurant,\u00a0 and\u00a0Pino\u00a0 Posteraro<\/i>\u00a0of Cioppino\u2019s Mediterranean Grill & Enoteca, and entertained by\u00a0Jim & Devin Cuddy, Ed Robertson, Anne Lindsay<\/i>\u00a0and home grown band\u00a0Kings Without<\/i>. Wine will be poured by the proprietors of award winning\u00a0Painted Rock<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Foxtrot<\/i>\u00a0Wineries. Musician Dave Matthews, a fan of Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, even donated wines from his winery, Dreaming Tree, in support as he is unable to attend the weekend.<\/p>\n

Only 24 people or 12 couples can buy-in to the weekend, for $12,000 Cdn (plus taxes), based on double occupancy. Donated proceeds made by guests will go directly to BC-based Power To Be Adventure Therapy, a not-for-profit organization that for over 16 years has inspired more than 7,500 youth and families in need of support to discover their limitless abilities through nature-based programs. \u201cClayoquot Wilderness Resort is following the trend of philanthropy tourism, targeting those who work hard, want to give back when they travel and are drawn to a remote luxury wilderness retreat,\u201d says Clayoquot Wilderness Resort\u2019s Managing Director John Caton. \u201cWe are blessed in this part of the world to have many remarkable wilderness experiences; however I think people will be hard pressed to find a weekend that combines this level of outstanding Canadian music, food and wine at a resort like Clayoquot that is world renown for its level of hospitality and adventures.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrities and guests will share meals, prepared by Hawksworth, Posteraro and Clayoquot Wilderness Resort\u2019s own executive chef, Ryan Orr. During the day, they will be invited to\u00a0 participate in a wide range of activities including hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, whale watching,\u00a0 fishing and guided photo safaris, and to enjoy the amenities including \u00a0hot tubs, camp fire lounge areas, fly tying tent, billiards tent and spa treatments , always offered at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort.<\/p>\n

And the evenings will be filled with music. Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo will rock the wilderness Friday night with his Juno-nominated son Devin Cuddy and Anne Lindsay, who has established herself as one of the most engaging and versatile instrumentalists in Canada, adapting her unique violin\/fiddle style to the eclectic sounds and musical languages of Canada\u2019s rich cultural texture.<\/p>\n

Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies takes the stage Saturday night with Vancouver Island\u2019s own Kings Without. \u00a0\u00a0Lead singer Todd Dunsmore was working at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort when Caton discovered his voice. Caton, who started his career as a talent scout and recording artist manager with Risqu\u00e9 Disque Records encouraged him to create a band and get more involved in the music industry. Based in Nanaimo, BC, Dunsmore has since taken over the business started by Caton and continues to perform with King\u2019s Without.<\/p>\n
