A very strange way to spend an evening, but then again he did try to blow up the parliament buildings! There won&#8217;t be a bonfire or sacrifice, but I guarantee they&#8217;ll be BBQ!<\/p>\n<p><strong>7:00pm Thursday, November 12th<br \/>\n<\/strong>at River Market in New Westminster<\/p>\n<p><strong>TICKETS:<\/strong> $30 pp \u2014 every last penny goes to\u00a0our staff member in need (see below).<br \/>\nKids 5-12 are $10 and teens 13-18 are $15. GREAT family friendly event.<br \/>\n<em>includes plenty of delicious food served family style, dessert, your first beer, great company, music and a surprise or two.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>MEAT DRAW: A<\/strong>\u00a0raffle for a a giant basket of Re-Up BBQ smoked meats and bacon too. Re-Up BBQ\u00a0invented a late fall holiday that they&#8217;ve\u00a0called\u00a0Guy-Fawkes-Toberfest where you can come as you are, or masquerade if you wish! There will be\u00a0sausages, sauerkraut and sides, even a dessert or two! Steel and Oak Brewing Co will be providing the beers. All of the proceeds go to a very worthy cause.<\/p>\n<p><b>From Re-Up BBQ:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last week, one of our staff and a New West local\u00a0came to us (after about 9 months of medical issues and severe difficulty working) to break the news that he has just been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.<\/strong> He and his wife are both students and they are raising a beautiful toddler girl. Given that he hasn\u2019t been able to work much as the disease is in an active phase, and his wife is supporting him while trying to raise a kid and finish her masters in social work, the family is challenged with finances.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Upon hearing this news, we are pledging to donate 100% of ticket sales and meat draw money directly to the family<\/strong> to furnish them with 2-3 months of rent and bill payments. We hope this will allow them to concentrate on building new habits, eating right and taking a moment to breathe. They are a smart and resourceful family who have been hit by a bump in the road.
