Stanley Park Classic Gets A Makeover<\/h2>\n

One rainy Vancouver day not so long ago, we headed into Stanley Park to check out the renovations and menu updates at the Prospect Point Cafe. I had actually never eaten at the cafe, having assumed that it was one of those touristy trap type restaurants, and apparently I was somewhat correct, but the past is now well behind us with the more than just cosmetic updates. The exterior is stunning, wood beams and floor to ceiling windows so you can truly catch the view of the Lions Gate Bridge and Burrard Inlet. The outdoor deck seats 130 and there is a little cafe inside serving up local, fresh baked goods and Moja coffee. The gift shop has shied away from the tacky key chains and has a nice selection of keepsakes that tourists and locals would be proud to take home, not to mention the large selection of Helly Hansen clothing and\u00a0Adrian Kliss bags.<\/p>\n

The menu has some of the classics, such as fish and chips, burgers and seafood chowder, and these items are well executed, but there is now plenty for the more adventurous eater and they are sticking to local when sourcing their ingredients.<\/p>\n

The mussels were delightful as was the boccocini and tomato salad, with a balsamic drizzle and crunchy, garlicy crostini.\"img<\/a><\/p>\n

Fries were bang on and the blackened chicken burger was full of tasty bbq flavour and served up on fresh rye bread.<\/p>\n

They proudly serve up Stanley Park Brewing<\/a>, so give a flight a try, and there are lots of BC Wines on the list as well.<\/p>\n

Save room for dessert and share some of the apple crumble or the chocolate pudding with crunchy sea foam.<\/p>\n
