Kitslilano’s Bimini’s Pub Overs Dinners Great Value<\/h2>\n

Named after the Bimini Islands in the Bahamas, Bimini\u2019s first opened its doors in 1974 after being granted the Province\u2019s first Neighborhood Pub license. The busy bar was quickly embraced by the post Summer of Love-era hippie locals; environmental agency Greenpeace\u2019s head office was across the street, and many of their radical plots were hatched in strategy meetings over pints. Aging myself here, I’m going to say I probably first went to the pub in the late 80’s and Michael and I have dropped in here and there for their great selection of craft beers and a quick bite or two. I’ve had a nice mushrooms scramble there the other day for brunch as well.<\/p>\n

\"Bimini's\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since it’s in the neighbourhood, just down a few blocks on West 4th Avenue, we thought we’d check out the dine out menu here and it’s a great deal at just $20 for three course. We sampled through all but the mac and cheese, and opted to pass on the wine pairings Michael was in the mood for beer and I’m sadly off wine for now.<\/p>\n

APPETIZERS – A super large bowl of\u00a0cauliflower & brie soup chili oil (add truffle cheese toast $3)and the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>fried chicken bits buttermilk, gravy, jalape\u00f1o pepper, chili honey that were nice and tender.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

ENTREES – Yam falafel bowl fresh & pickled veg, chickpeas, orange tahini, feta<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>or<\/i><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>roasted chicken & bacon stew squash, sage, buttermilk biscuit, both generous portions with great flavours.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

DESSERTS -Chocolate praline bar peanut butter, sweet cream, a little bit dry, but the\u00a0<\/span>coconut panna cotta with peach compote, ginger cookies was a nice way to finish the meal, served up nicely in a little jar.<\/span><\/div>\n

Dine Out is on just until February 4th, but Bimini’s has lots going on every night of the week and should you be looking for a deal the $2 beer and rib Tuesdays might be the one for you.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
