Sweet & Savoury Delights At Beaucoup Bakery<\/h2>\n

I’ve been reluctant to post this as it’s just around the corner from my cycle studio, and I feared I’d be too tempted once I looked more closely at the new items, but I’ve decided I’ll just spend a bit more time in those classes and then hope over for perhaps that Lavender Rhubarb Orange Choux!<\/p>\n

\"Beaucoup<\/a><\/p>\n

Beaucoup Bakery & Caf\u00e9<\/a> <\/strong>(2150 Fir Street) is taking inspiration from popular blooms this season and infusing floral flavours into its new spring menu. Customers can treat themselves to three new pastries and two vegetarian savoury options: Jasmine Blueberry Croissant, Lavender Rhubarb Orange Choux, Cardamom Saffron Flan P\u00e2tissier, Parsnip Celeriac Lentil Tarte, and a Roasted Spring Veggie Sandwich.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been experimenting with floral flavours and really like the way they can enhance a classic pastry,\u201dexplains Betty Hung, co-owner of Beaucoup Bakery.<\/strong> \u201cFor example, lavender has a beautiful and subtle flavour. It pairs especially well with the tart nature of rhubarb and citrus from the orange. Saffron is stronger in nature and works well with the cardamom spice and vanilla. We look forward to having people come in to try our new pastries.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cardamom Saffron Flan P\u00e2tissier<\/strong> ($4.25) is a cardamom saffron vanilla custard baked in a buttery flakey pastry shell.<\/p>\n

Beaucoup\u2019s signature double-baked croissant for spring is the Jasmine Blueberry Croissant<\/strong> ($5.50) made with a jasmine-scented almond cream, blueberry compote, and topped with an\u00a0almond streusel.<\/p>\n

\"Beaucoup<\/a><\/p>\n

The Lavender Rhubarb Orange Choux<\/strong> ($5.50) features a lavender rhubarb compote, orange caramel puff, and coconut praline cream in a crunchy choux pastry.<\/p>\n

The two new savoury vegetarian options are great for brunch, lunch, or a quick snack.<\/p>\n

The Parsnip Celeriac Lentil Tarte<\/strong> ($4.95) is composed of parsnip celeriac cream, French lentils, and topped with a fresh fennel and radish salad.\u00a0While the Roasted Spring Veggie Sandwich<\/strong> ($10.50) features a hearty mix of roasted yams, piquillo peppers, tomatoes, fresh basil and cherry tomatoes on Beaucoup Bakery\u2019s butter croissant with cr\u00e8me fraiche, and chipotle mayo.<\/p>\n
