I could have watched the whole production just for the costumes alone. If you are new to opera, this is the show that will get you hooked, while those familiar with this story will be delighted with this interpretation. And, in an unprecedented collaboration,\u00a0five Canadian opera companies have joined forces to produce\u00a0lavish sets and costumes inspired by the decadent music hall\u00a0scene of 1920s Paris. Violetta, a famous Parisian courtesan who\u00a0is consumed both by love and a life- threatening illness, is sung\u00a0by Canadian Emily Dorn.
