It\u2019s time for a celebration because, well, we are halfway through the week and we are still here. (Haha.) One of the ways I celebrate is to open a bottle of mid-week wine and enjoy it with a dish I lovingly prepare. For me, cooking is how I relax and get ready for what lies ahead \u2013 Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n<p>My #winewedesday wine recommendation is for a mid-week wine considered \u201cvino with value\u201d. It\u2019s that bottle you would happily bring to any dinner party on the weekend. The perfect wine for this dish is one that has lots of acidity to offset the richness of cream and butter. It\u2019s a wine that has a big enough body to stand up to the meaty texture of the mushrooms and density of the grilled chicken. Head on over to <a href=\"https:\/\/damndelicious.net\/2015\/01\/09\/chicken-creamy-mushroom-sauce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Damn Delicious<\/a> for a recipe for the Chicken in Creamy Mushroom Sauce (that&#8217;s also her dish pictured above).<\/p>\n<p>Winemaker\u2019s Cut Sauvignon Blanc 2018 is a white wine that offers crisp, fresh, and clean aromas and flavours of yellow grapefruit, lemon zest, gooseberry with grassy, green apple reminiscent of a New Zealand classic. It comes in a screw top bottle so if for some reason you don\u2019t finish, no harm no foul, you can stick it in the fridge for Thursday evening pre-dinner wine.<\/p>\n<p>With only 300 cases available for the vintage, the Winemaker\u2019s Cut Sauvignon Blanc this wine is not going to stick around. I noticed it is on \u201cby the glass\u201d at <a href=\"http:\/\/elsanto.ca\/menu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">El Santo<\/a> in New Westminster for $12.\u00a0 If you live in Yaletown stop by Swirl Wine Shop \u2018cause it\u2019s on feature this week for $21.99 before taxes. Bargain! He\u2019s also a fan of classical music and he plays it in the vineyard and winery whenever possible. Seriously, the grapes are raised by Beethoven, Mozart and Bach!<\/p>\n<h3>About Barb Wild From Barb Herself!<\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019m a foodie at heart. Because of my love for food, I discovered wine. At the time I had no idea what the difference was between Bordeaux and Burgundy or why I would choose one over the other to go with my meal. Seriously!
