Northern Italian Giovane Bacaro Now Open at the Fairmont Pacific Rim<\/h2>\n

A busy few weeks for the Kitchen Table Restaurant Group! giovane bacaro is now open and Miantiao this week! GLV<\/p>\n

Award-winning, BC-based hospitality group Kitchen Table Restau<\/a>rants<\/a> will introduce a Northern Italian-inspired wine-and-cicchetti bar experience that brings the best culinary aspects of Venice to the heart of Vancouver when it officially opens the doors of giovane bacaro<\/p>\n

Opening on the lobby level at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, giovane bacaro will take its guests on a sensory tour of the style, service, and atmosphere of Northern Italian\u2019s quintessential \u2018bacaros’ <\/em>under the guiding hand of General Manager Mark Taylor<\/strong> (Cibo Trattoria, Siena).<\/em><\/p>\n

Chef\u00a0Scott Korzack’s\u00a0<\/strong>(Ask For Luigi, Autostrada, L\u2019Abattoir)\u00a0<\/em>food menu<\/a> will be informed by the seasons and strong relationships with local farms and purveyors, infused with Italian sensibilities, traditions, and techniques, while encouraging patrons to explore and embrace a choose-your-own-adventure dining experience via Venice\u2019s signature cicchetti (small plates).<\/p>\n

Award-winning interior design firm Ste. Marie Studios<\/strong>\u00a0has brought the space to life by paying homage to mid-century contemporary Italian style and design pioneers by incorporating feature marble, intermittent pops of colour, and the focal point and showpiece of the space \u2014 a metre-long forcola,<\/em> (a wooden oarlock used in Venetian gondolas) \u2014 as a nod to the space\u2019s heritage and mode of transportation in its storied canals.<\/p>\n

Aperitivi<\/em> rules the day \u2014 and night \u2014 at giovane bacaro with a beverage menu\u00a0overseen by Bar Director Tyson Davies\u00a0<\/strong>that includes cocktails, spritzes and spirits that incorporate an array of chilled Italian vermouths, artisanal amari, bitters and prosecco in drinks inspired by traditional Italian culture and the new Aperitivo movement.<\/p>\n

giovane bacaro\u2019s wine program follows the lead of Wine Director Cassandra Mosher<\/strong>, who believes \u201cwine is meant to be enjoyed, not dissected, fawned over or fetishized\u201d and aims to take the pretention out of the wine experience. Bacaro\u2019s approachable yet thoughtfully curated selection will showcase varietals from small, family run wineries of Northern Italy as well as special, standout gems from BC\u2019s own backyard in a list offering by the glass and bottle options and flights that encourage adventure.<\/p>\n

In the newly dedicated\u00a0giovane caff\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0space, espresso aficionados have a fresh destination to enjoy\u00a0‘caff\u00e9 speciali’<\/em> and a thoughtfully curated selection of beverages that includes mandorlattes, marocchinos, bicerins <\/em>and\u00a0affogatos, <\/em>among others.\u00a0<\/em>Guests can also\u00a0<\/em>enjoy singular espresso experiences via Italian engineer Alfonso Bialetti’s iconic Moka Pots<\/strong> \u2014 a staple in many Italian households and, at giovane caff\u00e9, one that marries old-world Italian heritage with contemporary techniques by utilizing a rotation of local small-batch roasted beans and ideal extraction times to produce superior coffee with each pour.<\/p>\n
