Hosted by chefs <strong>Mike McClintock<\/strong> and <strong>Doug Stephen<\/strong> at <strong>The American<\/strong> (926 Main Street), each participating chef has been challenged to create a unique meatball sandwich to be paired with local brews. Guests will have the chance to try each sando and beer pairing and vote for their favourite. Tickets are available now via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=3e1d9353bdeab1bc3e16c8d93&amp;id=22e8d54a5c&amp;e=dcfa86eb0d\">Eventbrite<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This Sandwich, That Beer was created by Kevin Wood, who loves sandwiches and great craft beer. He used to regularly host throwdown events with local chefs before the pandemic and raised funds for various Metro Vancouver charities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Movember movement is something close to both Mike and I\u2019s heart as no man should ignore the importance of prostate health,\u201d <strong>explains Stephen, co-owner of DL Chicken, Downlow Burgers, Vennie\u2019s Sub Shop, and The Drive Canteen. <\/strong>\u201cWe are thrilled so many of our friends are joining in to help us raise funds for such a worthy cause. It\u2019s going to be a fun night of sandwiches, pints, and giving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>This Sandwich, That Beer: Movember Edition <\/strong>runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Tickets are $49++ and available for purchase online and via EventBrite. Tickets will give each guest six 2oz sandwiches, at least six 4oz beer pints, and a raffle ticket to win great prizes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The participating chefs include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vish Mayekar<\/strong>, executive chef, Pepino\u2019s and Caffe La Tana, Culinary Team Canada and 2022 Top Chef Canada contestant<\/li>\n<li><strong>Justin Cheung<\/strong>, chef and co-owner, Potluck Hawkers Eatery<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lina Caschetto<\/strong>, chef, Say Hey Cafe and Deli<\/li>\n<li><strong>Johnny Bridge<\/strong>, UBC Campus and Mind The Bar<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bryan Satterford<\/strong> and Clay Yen, Juke Fried Chicken and Ribs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Boris McKay<\/strong> of Vennie\u2019s Sub Shop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The six breweries include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>33 Acres<\/li>\n<li>Bridge Brewing Co.<\/li>\n<li>Superflux Beer Company<\/li>\n<li>Strange Fellows Brewing<\/li>\n<li>Powell Brewery<\/li>\n<li>Twin Sails Brewing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Awards to be handed out that afternoon are Best Sandwich, Best Beer, and Best Pairing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKevin started something truly amazing all those years ago, and this special Movember Edition is a great way to continue the tradition,\u201d <strong>adds McClintock. <\/strong>\u201cThis couldn\u2019t be possible without our sponsors Two Rivers Meats, The American, Knifewear, DL Chicken, Meat and Bread, and so many more generous souls.
