Ring in the Year of the Snake with an exclusive dining experience that honours the rich traditions of the Lunar New Year while supporting a vital local cause. On\u00a0Sunday, January 19, and Monday, January 20<\/strong>,\u00a0Heritage Restaurant and Bar<\/strong><\/a> will host two fundraising dinners with celebrated chefs\u00a0Will Lew<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0Pacific Reach<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Sharon Chan<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0MAMAintheKitchen<\/strong><\/a>, along with a group of local suppliers and sponsors. Proceeds from the event will benefit the\u00a0Vancouver Chinatown Foundation<\/strong><\/a>, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing Vancouver\u2019s historic Chinatown.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Year of the Snake, associated with wisdom, intuition, and transformation, provides a fitting backdrop for this gathering at Heritage\u2019s newest location, 4242 Main Street. In the spirit of celebration and giving back, guests are invited to begin their evening at 6 p.m. and indulge in a four-course seated dinner featuring 13 unique dishes that honour the cultural richness and culinary heritage of the Lunar New Year. Beverages will be available \u00e0 la carte.<\/p>\n

The menu, collaboratively designed by the Heritage team, Chef Lew, and Chef Chan, showcases creations that reflect their shared cultural backgrounds while highlighting each chef\u2019s unique culinary philosophy. The auspicious feast will be crafted using sustainable, locally sourced ingredients generously donated by renowned local purveyors such as Canadian Kelp Resources, Canadian Pacifico Seaweed, Clear Ocean Seafood, Fanny Bay Oysters, Gastronomers Garden \/ Misebloom, Golden Eagle Sablefish, Hook & Herd Distribution, Kenji Seafood, Legends Haul, MAMAintheKitchen, Ocean Wise, Oyster & King, and West Coast Wild Scallops.<\/p>\n

Highlights from the meal include signature dishes such as Salted Egg Yolk Crusted Pork Belly<\/strong> appetizer with crab salad; Heritage\u2019s handmade noodles<\/strong> for longevity and signature BBQ chicken<\/strong> (symbolizing unity); and, for dessert, a trio of Sesame Balls<\/strong>, Mandarin Mousse<\/strong>, and a creatively re-interpreted Lunar New Year tradition – Nin Gou Rice Cakes<\/strong> – symbolizing wealth and good fortune. Guests will also enjoy live performances throughout the evening by acclaimed local artists Marie Hui and Kristin Fung, adding an enriching element to the festivities.<\/p>\n
