WildTale Coastal Grill

I first visited WildTale this spring and have since recommended the restaurant many times. Super fresh seafood, a good selection of oysters and a bright coastal feel make for a great meal.  There’s a semi-private space for groups of up to eighteen, and a private wine room with 34 seats, and I am always being asked about “private rooms”.

Vancouverites John Crook and Erik Heck are the co-owners of WildTale, they also own all locations of the very succesful Flying Pig. The menu is seafood-focused, and sources heavily from our West Coast, but also had items from the Atlantic and some meaty options such as the Peace River Bison Ribye Burger at lunch or the Lamb Shank at dinner.

A recent lunch was a leisurely one, and we sampled fresh oysters, flavourful mussels, some tender humboldt shrimp, the deep fried oysters and some perfectly seared scallops.img 0603img 0596

For dinner the grilled fish of the day is always a good choice and desserts are a must, do not miss the banana cream pie.

There are 100 seats inside and 50 seats on the heated patio, as well as bar seating should you wish to stop by for a quick drink.

Recently WildTale added Sunday Lobster Suppers that begin with seafood chowder and freshly baked rolls, P.E.I. mussels, farmer’s salads and fresh steamed lobster. For dessert, select from a freshly baked pie, mixed berry shortcake, chocolate mousse or ice cream.
