IDS Vancouver September 26-29 The Interior Design Show marks its 15th year in Vancouver and has announced this year’s themes as being based around food, sustainability, and accessible design. Taking place September 26-29 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, IDS is the largest design fair on the west coast of North America and we had a sneak peak, before the door were officially open. Improv Troupes Perform and Teach During Improv Week Last week we headed over to the theatre on Commercial Drive’s  Havana to take an Improv Class, all in prep for the Improv Festival happening this week at The Cultch. I had done some Improv with Vancouver Theatresports, but was never formally trained, so this was something of a stretch for me,  as it seemed also for some of my classmates. Fortunately I wasn’t alone in feeling a little foolish as we went through some of the more interesting exercises. I’d recommend a class to anyone wanting to move out of their comfort…

Sampling On Commercial Drive with Vancouver Foodster We joined Richard Wolak’s Vancouver Foodster Tasting Plates for the  Commercial Drive edition on September 4 and were reminded of a few things. We love Federico’s and their pasta rocks. We’ve got to get back for more gnocchi. Pasture to Plate has some of the best cured meats around, and their meat locker is beyond impressive. Fratelli Bakery has far too many tempting items to be safe for the general public. Calorie alert. But it’s worth it Jamjar’s flavours are intense and they’re very generous. Even when we are full and we plan…
