Cuba Hits Vancouver

GerardoIf salsa moves you you’ll want to take note that Cuban musician Gerardo Contino along with his troup Los Habaneros are spicing it up in Vancouver on April 3 and 4. Gerardo Contino, nicknamed ‘El Abogado de la Salsa,’ sings ‘timba’ – a style based on Cuban music along with salsa, American funk/R&B, and Afro-Cuban folkloric music.  The sounds are addictive and will be certain to get more than just your feet tapping.

Thursday April 3rd, 2014 Performance Works on Granville Island hosts the group with doors at 8 pm, a complimentary salsa dance lesson at 8:30 p.m and the show 9 p.m. Just $30 at www.gerardoinvancouver.com

Friday, April 4, 2014 you can dine and dance personally with Contino at  Provence Marinaside in Yaletown.  The evening starts at 7 p.m. with a three-course dinner including Small Bites – a selection of appetizers served family-style on platters, a choice of Braised Lamb Shank or Steelhead Trout  and then White Chocolate and Berry Clafoutis for dessert. You’ll want to finish your plate so you’ll have the energy to dance the night away. The dinner and concert combo is $65 are for both nights, there is a package at $90.
