Beauty Sleep – Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

Nightly Dermalogica Routine For Your Best Sleep Ever

I don’t know about you, but sleep is always something I could use more of. I seem to go hard all day and then just collapse, but it’s not always restful, so when I was invited in to Dermalogica to try some of their new sleep-inducing products and receive a rest-inducing treatment, I was totally game. I met with Cory, who is a one of Dermalogica’s excellent consultants, he makes one feel at ease and has obviously done his homework when it comes to beauty treatments, and rather than just sell me on the products he actually went into a lot of lifestyle choices and habits that assist with getting that good rest so I just have to share.

  • Your bedroom should exist for sleep and be a calm place for you to achieve that state – no tv’s office, clothes flung on chairs, etc.
    • What’s your bedroom like? Well, I’d love to say my in absolutely serene with crisp fresh lavender sprayed sheets daily and everything in it’s place, but I’d be totally lying. I have 750 square feet to live in and my office is in my bedroom, a total no-no, but space is hard to come by here in Vancouver. I am trying to de-clutter and organize things over here on Cranberry Drive, but getting rid of things makes me very anxious, so it takes me a while to wrap my head around the whole issue. #hoarderissues shhhh…What I can do for now is work towards these bedroom goals and if I can, you can too. If anyone wants to help me…..
  • Have a nightly routine for going to bed.
    • Your skin repairs best from 9-midnight, so when you come home remove your make up right away and put on your night creams and your new Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon night gel for extra relaxation
    •  Get off your phones, computers and limit TV close to bedtime. Again, next to impossible for me, but I’ll try.

Endy Sheets
  • Wash your sheets at least once a week – I’ve recently shifted to ENDY sheets and I love them (more on that soon) I often do a little lavender spray here and there; Sage has a great one.
  • Get a Himalayan Salt Lamp – They help neutralize the positive ions emitted from televisions, computers, artificial air conditioners, etc.  Thank you Selfology Spa for your gift of a Salt Lamp! You’re so awesome.
  • Use a Sleep App – Soft Music can lull you off to sleep – Dermalogica has one!

fitbit ionic

Another thing that I find particularly useful is my fitbit. It has a sleep function that alerts me when I should be getting ready for bed according to the schedule I’ve set, tracks my sleep and has a silent vibrating alarm that is a lot less abrasive to wake up to.
