Granville Island Brings Tomatoes to the Small Screen

Foodies are in for another treat with Granville Island’s latest culinary video featuring Chef Ryan Gauthier, Corporate Chef for The GLOWBAL COLLECTION of Restaurants (glowbal grill, COAST, Italian Kitchen, SOCIETY, Trattoria and Black+Blue). The new video is part of a series filmed at Granville Island’s outdoor Farmers Market. The cooking action captures local chefs creating deliciously easy dishes with tasty seasonal ingredients, all of which can be found on the Island, at the weekly Farmers Market or the Public Market. The videos are then posted to Granville Island’s Facebook page ( facebook.com/granvilleisland).

For his culinary close-up, Chef Gauthier chose to work with juicy Heirloom tomatoes, creating a lovely Cold Tomato Soup. “I love this recipe,” says Gauthier. “The intense flavour of fresh from the vine Heirloom tomatoes is complemented by cool cucumber, sweet mango and zesty chili pepper. Have fun with the dish by using brightly coloured tomatoes and dress it up at the end with melon or cucumber garnishments.”
