The Reef Restaurant is launching their third annual Reef Rum Nights event.  Over seventeen weeks in January through to April, guests can experience seventeen different, top-shelf rums from around the globe for free.

Started in 2010, the Reef Restaurant offers a unique tasting opportunity.  Complimentary tastings are available to all guests of legal drinking age and different rum is featured every week.  While most of the selection is centred on Caribbean brands, there will be a showing of Canadian and American rums.

“Rum is one of the most widely-consumed beverages in the world.  There is a wide selection available, all with different flavor profiles and terroir-based nuances that not a lot of people know about,” says Claudine Santos, the project’s progenitor.  “Our goal at the Reef is to introduce and help familiarize our guests with all things Caribbean and that should include the favourite libation – rum.”

The event will be taking place at the Commercial Drive (1018 Commercial Drive) and Victoria (533 Yates Street) locations on Sundays and at the Main Street (4172 Main Street) location on Mondays.  Guests are invited to the tasting anytime between 6 and 8 p.m. where a local rum agent will be on hand to answer any product questions you may have.
