Inaugural fundraiser features a hair, fashion, and make-up runway extravaganza – With special guests Margaret Trudeau and Symone

Vancouver, BC – Volume Studio Ltd, together with Goldwell, are proud to present the first-ever Brilliant! fundraising gala on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Commodore Ballroom. In support of mental health, proceeds raised will benefit three non-profit organizations: St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation Mental Health Units, Ride Don’t Hide, and the Vancouver Native Health Society.

“Mental health effects about 4.5 million Canadians, and the issues surrounding mental health truly touches us all,” explains Dean Thullner, Volume Studio Big Wig and Brilliant! event organizer. “We wanted to make a difference by creating a fundraising effort that would involve the community and educate the public about mental health. And, at the same time, have fun at a glittering gala like Brilliant! Special thanks goes to the Commodore Ballroom for hosting us in their space.”

Guests will be treated to a 45-minute runway show featuring some of Canada’s hottest fashions, hair stylists, makeup artists, and talent. Bites will be served throughout the evening while DJ Leanne spins tunes. There will also be a wide selection of silent and live auction items.

“When I was first approached about Brilliant!, I said yes instantly,” says Margaret Trudeau. “As many people know, I’ve been living with bipolar disorder all my life. Supporting this great mental health initiative, especially in my hometown, is important to me. I commend Volume Studio for taking a stand and involving the community.”

Volume Studio will be hosting a special model casting call on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at noon at St. Paul’s Hospital, in the Comox Building. Participants will be selected to walk the runway during the event.
