For a limited time, part of the proceeds of each breakfast sold at restaurants across the BC Lower Mainland and Victoria will be donated to the CKNW Orphan’s Fund
It may be a menu item designed for big breakfast lovers, but the Grand Slam breakfast at Denny’s is also a symbol of kindness and compassion as the restaurant teams up with local Vancouver radio station, CKNW, to raise thousands of dollars for the CKNW Orphan’s Fund.
Until October 15th, all Denny’s restaurants across the BC Lower Mainland and Victoria will donate $1 from every Grand Slam breakfast sold to the CKNW Orphan’s Fund. On October 15th, 100 per cent of all Grand Slams sold at the Denny’s on West Broadway and Hemlock Street in Vancouver will be donated as well. Last year, the restaurant sold over 12,000 Grand Slams raising an impressive $15,000. This year, the restaurant chain is aiming to reach that goal once again.
Chandni Chaube, Marketing Manager of Denny’s Restaurants says they are thrilled to be able to support the great cause for the second year in a row.
“The Grand Slam breakfast is a popular tradition and customers will feel good knowing that by ordering it, they’ll be donating to the CKNW Orphan’s Fund. Since the promotion began in late September, we’ve already sold 5,000 Grand Slams and we expect to sell 13,000 before October 15th.”
Since 1945, The CKNW Orphan’s Fund has awarded over 30 million dollars to over 200,000 special needs and vulnerable children. The fund’s mission is to enhance the lives of children with physical, mental and social challenges living in BC communities.
