VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL TEQUILA EXPO ANNOUNCES AZUÑIA TEQUILA COCKTAIL COMPETITION, RESTAURANT PARTNERS, AND AGAVE WEEK
Founding Partners Eric Lorenz, Manuel Otero, Darryl Lamb & Mirko Morhac of the Second Annual Vancouver International Tequila Expo(VITE) announced today the launch of the Tequila Expo’s Azuñia Tequila Cocktail Competition and revealed their restaurant partners.
“This year’s event will feature a Cocktail Competition, sponsored by Azuñia Tequila, in which twelve top BC bartenders will compete for a trip to Tequila Country: Jalisco, Mexico!” said Lorenz. “We’re also offering more tequila tasting booths than 2012, Tasting Seminars at Legacy Liquor Store for Vancouver Agave Week (May 19th to 27th, 2013), and more exclusive tequila brands as yet unavailable in British Columbia!”
Of special note this year will be the restaurants joining the tequila brands as exhibitors in the Grand Tasting Hall. “We’re positively ecstatic that Joe Fortes, Las Margaritas, The Edge at Chateau Granville, the Donnelly Group’s Clough Club, and the Hyatt Regency’s own Mosaic Bar & Grill will be serving up their own unique tequila-inspired cuisine!” said Otero.
The Main Event for the General Public will take place from 6-9 P.M. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Vancouver Hyatt Regency Hotel and is sponsored by First Majestic (Presenting Sponsor), Legacy Liquor Store, Las Margaritas Restaurant, Azuñia Tequila, Tavi Tequila, The BMW Store, Tourism Mexico, ProMexico, and the Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver. A trade tasting will be announced in the coming days. Proceeds from the event will once again benefit the British Columbia Hospitality Foundation (BCHF), the Hospitality Industry’s own charity.
Grand Tasting Hall Tickets are on sale on Tickets Tonight (www.ticketstonight.ca) for $60. Further details about the Expo, and details and tickets for Vancouver Agave Week Seminars and Events can be found at www.vancouvertequilaexpo.com.
