Every second Sunday from May 19- September 22nd MARKET BY JEAN-GEORGES at the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver hosts a farmers market along with an exceptionally local and farmer-driven brunch featuring ingredients from the market. At the market you’ll find baked goods, greens, fruit spreads and olive oil, and if you are lucky Erin Ireland’s amazing It’s to Die For banana bread.
The market is held in the plaza area Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver and Urban Fare (the next one is June 30). Along with the vendors you can catch Chefs Montgomery Lau or Chef Wayne Harris at a cooking demo at noon, where they demo products from the day’s market and create a dish with samples going to the crowd.
The 3-course brunch is $29 per person and is a great way to celebrate local produce and treat yourself right on a sunny Sunday.
We headed to the brunch a few Sunday’s back and then perused the market leaving with a few goodies.
