The top 11 chefs from regions around Canada have been selected to compete in the final Gold Medal Plates Championships. During the Gold Medal Plates project over 100+ competing chefs create their ultimate dish and pair it with a premier Canadian wine, spirit or beer.
This is the last step in the final competition.

The format of this Grand Finale event will be the same as the Gold Medal Plates event that was held in each city.
5:45 pm VIP Reception – to be held in the same rooms as the Chef’s competition AND FOR VIP GUESTS ONLY
6:15 pm Chef Stations open – early access for VIP guests ONLY
6:30 pm Culinary Competition for all guests – Food & Wine tasting, Silent Auction.
8:15 pm Dessert Celebration: Dessert, olympian interviews, live auction, performances by Ed Robertson and Barney Bentall and the crowning of the Canadian Culinary Champion FOR 2014!
10:30 pm Celebration Continues with THE COVER 2 COVER BAND!
Similar to the regional Gold Medal Plates events, chefs will be asked to prepare a signature dish and serve it to guests as they stroll from station to station sampling the chef’s dishes. Judges will be at a separate table and food runners will bring their dishes to them and accompanying wines.
Once the chefs stations close guests will be seated for the Celebration which will feature interviews with Olympians, live auction, entertainment by Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies and Barney Bentall and the crowning of the Best Chef in Canada for 2014!
