Head down to Granville Island and celebrate our Canadian Olympians with this food, drink and entertainment festival. Part of the Winterruption Festival in Granville Island. GLV
2nd Annual Festival Under The Bridge takes place February 14-16, 2014
Last year, the popular locally inspired bistro Edible Canada at the Market hosted Street Eats & Beats, their inaugural Festival Under the Bridge. Over 1,500 Vancouverites packed this unique outdoor shindig, celebrating local talent and the city’s hottest food trucks. Inspired by the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, this year’s festival, Edible Canada House, is expected to be the biggest Olympic party in Vancouver. For those wanting to relive the glory of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, this is your chance.
Tucked underneath the Granville Street Bridge in the heart of Granville Island, this Canadian-themed winter festival is once again part of CMHC’s famous Winterruption Festival, running February 14–16. Along with live music (including both DJs and bands), Edible Canada House will showcase a number of live and pre-recorded Olympic events provided by event sponsor, Preston Mobility. Three giant projection screens will allow guests to party the night away while cheering on the nation’s top athletes. In true Edible Canada fashion, the theme will be quintessential Canadian.
Savoury Chef will be hosting multiple food stations showcasing classic Canadian fare such as bison chili, Alberta beef brisket & maple flapjacks to name a few — perfect late night snacks! There will also be other comfort food items provided by Edible Canada, such as cheesy perogies. Granville Island Brewing will be supplying the craft beer and many other local wines and spirits will be flowing over the course of the weekend, including Edible’s famous “Garnish Your Own” Caesar bar.
“It’s going to be one huge party!” says Eric Pateman, Edible Canada Founder and CEO. “We have been planning our second Festival Under the Bridge since the incredible success of last year’s Street Eats & Beats. The Sochi Olympics is the perfect excuse for a bash. We’re inviting the whole city down to cheer on our Olympic hopefuls and relive the party that was 2010!”
Edible Canada House will run the entire weekend of February 14-16 and into early mornings. Families with young ones are also warmly welcomed, as there will also be a separate play area with face painting courtesy of Granville Island Toy Company.
