The Butcher and the Bar – A Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea

gentlemens-teaPoppadoms is spicing up Father’s Day with a one-off Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea. Drawing on inspiration from the Dosanj family’s English roots, the lunchtime menu will follow the theme of a ‘Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea’, which, unlike a regular Afternoon Tea, is filled with meat and cocktails, all with an Indian-inspired twist.

This collaboration will bring together the culinary talents of Chef Jas and Aman Dosanj of Poppadoms, Chef Jason Leizert of Salted Brick, and award-winning mixologist Harry Dosanj (Poppadoms).

The Indian-inspired collaboration will take place at Poppadoms restaurant on Sunday June 15, 2014 (Father’s Day), with two seating times: 11:00am and 1pm. ‘The Butcher and the Bar’ will feature a choice of a Indian-Inspired Ploughman’s Lunch with Vindaloo Spiced Pork Salami and a royal Rajasthani spiced Chicken Pâté, made by Chef Jason (Salted Brick), Tamarind Glazed Duck Breast, house-made Pickles and Chutney, plus apple wood smoked Paneer (Indian cheese using local Blackwell Dairy milk). Or, Tiffin Bites, consisting of finger foods such as Minced Lamb Kebab Slider, Chicken Tikka Pot Pie, ‘Kadhai’ Spiced Padron Peppers and more.

Award-winning bartender, Harry Dosanj, will be behind ‘The Butcher Bar’ to mix up four cocktails to mark the occasion, plus promote the local Okanagan cocktail movement.
