HOP OVER TO HARRISON FOR THE 3rd ANNUAL BEER FESTIVAL OCTOBER 24 – 25, 2014
It’s back for the third year: Tourism Harrison brings back the successful Harrison Beer Festival, consisting of three events: Cask Night on Friday, October, 24 and the Harrison Beer Festival and the Oktoberfest Dance on Saturday, October 25.
Wet your whistle with these facts:
• 1,200 litres of beer poured at last year’s festival.
• 800 people attended the Harrison Beer Festival last year.
• 23 – number of breweries participating in the 2014 Annual Beer Festival
• 70 – different types of beer will be tasted in 2014
• 4,375 km is the longest distance travelled by Mill St. Brewery from Ontario
• 35 km is the shortest distance travelled by Chilliwack’s Old Yale Brewery
• $18 is the starting price of the individual event tickets.
• $60 is the ‘Beer Lovers’ admission for all three events.
Interesting facts and trivia about some of the participants:
• 110 ft. is the height of the wind turbine at Stanley Park Brewery, emphasizing its sustainable efforts.
• 2014 – The year that Canadian Brewery Awards recognized Old Yale Brewery’s Sasquatch Stout as Canada’s Beer of the Year, Stout.
• 365 – Number of pubs visited in one year in Scotland by Russ Ovans, founder of Barkerville Brewery.
• 1946 – The year of the original ‘Red Truck’ Dodge Power Wagon of Red Truck Brewery.
• 650 ml is the only bottle size available from Canuck Empire Brewery (in Abbotsford).
• 1996 – Founding year of Mt. Begbie Brewery in Revelstoke.
• 70 IBUs of hop character are in Moon Brewery’s Tranquility IPA
