The BC SPCA is excited to announce its first-ever Vancouver fundraising gala, slated for Nov. 1 at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown. Offleashed: A Whole New Breed of Gala is an evening inspired by the love we feel for our canine companions and promises to be a one-of-a-kind event featuring some of Vancouver’s most celebrated chefs and performers.
Upon entering the venue, guests will be led on a unique journey through various sensory experiences, featuring distinctive mood-setting décor and live performances by the Aeroisa dance society, celebrated recording artist Mary Zilba and Grammy-award winning musician Chin Injeti.
Guests will also be treated to the culinary creations of six of Vancouver’s most celebrated chefs, including Angus An, chef and owner of Maenam; Curtis Luk, Top Chef Canada contestant and head chef at Bambuddah; Hunter Moyes, head chef at The Parker; Hamid Salimian, co-founder of NextJen; Thompson Tran, formerly from Bishop’s restaurant; and Paul Haldane, head chef at Trafalgar’s Bistro.
“In addition to raising urgently needed funds for the organization, we want to provide our guests and supporters with a truly memorable evening,” says Craig Daniell, CEO of the BC SPCA.
The event will also feature a silent and live auction, the latter which includes a luxurious trip for two to acclaimed Clayoquot Wilderness Resort and a custom canine portrait by renowned Vancouver artist Athena Bax.
Tickets are $200 and doors open at 5:30 pm. All proceeds from the evening will fund critical animal welfare work including sheltering and adoption programs, cruelty investigations, farm animal protection, wildlife rehabilitation and veterinary services, advocacy and youth programming.
