Gotham Steakhouse adds delicious new dishes and fresh ingredients

I remember going to Gotham Steakhouse for after work drinks after the stock market closed and had many decadent business lunches here back in my finance days, but hadn’t been in for a while. The new menu was a great excuse to remedy this, so we popped in for lunch just before the new year and stayed a while, although they are also known for providing  a quick lunch should you need it.

I love the room here, it’s very lush and with all high ceilings and dark wood, one just feels richer just being in here.  Gotham Steakhouse is a great, traditional steakhouse, and has all the must haves on such an establishments menu, the steak sandwich, shrimp cocktail and spinach salad, but they also mix things up a bit and serve items such as fish tacos and a Thai beef salad.

Chef Jean Claude Douguet recently added Medallions of Beef Forestiere, Beef Bourguignon, and Chicken Paillard to the menu; lighter options like Tuna Poke, and the local Tomato, Beets and Burrata Salad.  The full dinner menu, including Gotham’s exclusive 60 day dry-aged Canada Prime Beef, is available as well, should you wish to really indulge.

We sampled our way through several delightful items and enjoyed a few glasses of wine to celebrate the season. Tuna poke was super fresh and seasoned perfectly, as the beet burrata salad. My companions went for the lobster cobb and the beef, while I opted for the chicken paillard, a decadent, buttery dish of tender chicken topped with mushrooms, arugula and parmesan.
