What’s Going On In Vancouver This Week
It’s been a busy week for me here as I’ve joined a very cool company, Satel Creative, a Vancouver ecommerce agency, and right off the bat there’s an event this weekend, and I hope to see some of you there. Craft Beer Week starts this week and there’s lots of beer dinners coming up, including one at Chicha! I’m also heading to the Veggie Expo on Sunday and will have a sneak peak of a couple of the products for you in the next few days; who knew Brussels sprout and cauliflower puffs could taste so good?
VCBW 2018 Kickoff: East Van Crusher – May 25
Kicking off VCBW at the Maritime Labour Centre is the East Van Crusher. This unorthodox event is unlike any opening night celebration VCBW has ever hosted, featuring an incredible array of canned beer including the official VCBW 2018 Collaboration Beer, the infamous Grant Lawrence opening the 10-day celebration with the cracking of the first can, live music from Alex Maher and DJ Hebegebe, and the glory of one of VCBW’s most revered events: Feats of Strength hosted by Copper & Theory. Watch in amazement as brewers, cellar men and women, barkeeps and hopefuls compete in ridiculous events designed to measure one’s strength, but mostly to entertain.
