Plenty & Grace Food Group Ltd. Presents Preservatory Provisions & Toast Bar on Granville Island
Plenty & Grace Food Group Ltd. (PGFG) has opened Preservatory Provisions & Toast Bar, a brand-new specialty foods market and fast casual standup café on Granville Island. Preservatory Provisions & Toast Bar offers elevated toasts featuring The Preservatory preserves alongside products from local specialty makers, producers, and farmers. The café is at the entrance to the Granville Island Public Market, at 1689 Johnston Street.
The new café and market are a first for PGFG and a collaboration by two of B.C.’s biggest culinary supporters; Lee Murphy, founder of The Preservatory, Plenty & Grace Food Hub & Innovation Centre and co-owner of Vista D’oro Farms & Winery alongside husband, Patrick Murphy, co-owner, and winemaker at Vista D’oro Farms & Winery. This new endeavour strives to combine the offerings from each of Murphy’s businesses while continuing to support local British Columbia growers and producers both on the shelf and on the menu.
The menu includes a curated list of artisanal toasts highlighting The Preservatory preserves. Each features the freshest bread from the best local bakeries, including Nelson the Seagull and Terra Breads, paired with B.C.’s bounty of seasonal vegetables, fruits, herbs, and local artisanal cheeses curated by Benton Cheese. Visitors can expect to enjoy produce from local farms including Pinsch of Soil, Vista D’oro Farms and Driediger Farms, and items from local specialty makers alongside The Preservatory, including Mellifera Bees, Spread ‘em Kitchen, Farming Karma and Edna’s Non-alcoholic Cocktail Co.
“We are the definition of local. Our menu is crafted with the very provisions we create and sell, including offerings from our favourite Granville Island Public Market merchants,” says Lee Murphy. “As producers and purveyors of specialty food products which showcase the best of B.C.’s fertile growing regions, our shelves are stocked with preserves, pickles, syrups, honey, chocolate and so much more. a delicious slice of B.C.”
