MAY 28 –Beatles Tribute Night to include memorabilia display, live music, and prizes
Beatles fans across the province will be congregating at Vancouver’s FigMint Restaurant & Lounge on Friday, May 28 for a Beatles Tribute Night featuring live performances, an extensive display of authentic Beatles memorabilia, trivia, and more. Doors open at 7pm, tickets are $20 and include one cocktail, and access to all the fun. The evening will include a meet and greet with Jody Tennant, who plays Paul McCartney in the popular Beatles tribute band The Fab Fourever. Tennant has met Sir Paul and loves to share his story, and sing a Beatles song or two.
Guests can order off a tastefully themed Beatles dinner and cocktail menu, participate in Beatles trivia, and have the opportunity to be a Beatle by playing Beatles Rock Band on the big screen. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in Beatles-inspired attire.
On display will be several, unique items from one of Canada’s largest personal Beatles collections. Don Blight, Senior Banquet Captain for the adjoining Plaza 500 Hotel, has been collecting Beatles memorabilia since 1975, and he even named his sons after the band members. Blight will be there to showcase select items from his 3,000-piece collection, including autographed items, a print of John Lennon (worth about $3000); framed photographs of each of the Beatles including their original drummer, Pete Best; a Sergeant Pepper doll collection, and more.
