TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE
Responding to spa goers’ needs for services that are long on benefit but short on time, CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver has added new treatments ranging from 45 to 75 minutes. The new menu items include massages, facials, and foot rituals designed to relieve tension and promote well-being, in less than 90 minutes.
“While the CHI approach centres around deep-rooted Asian healing philosophies and practices with many treatments requiring two hours, we do have clients who want the benefits of a specialized treatment but in a shorter time-frame,” said Karen Sato, manager of CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver. “We have designed our new treatments around a ‘lunch hour’ concept so you can be in and out in an hour to an hour and a half.”
The new “Rescue Me” treatment (CAD$120 plus tax) is a 45 minute relaxation massage focused on relieving muscle tension in the back, head and shoulders and/or feet. Clients are able to direct the therapist to focus on one specific area or combine.
Two new 50 minute treatments – a “Deep Tissue Massage” (CAD$165 plus tax) and the “Men’s Executive Facial” (CAD$145 plus tax) – are equally results-oriented in a focused time frame. The Deep Tissue Massage puts clients in the hands of skilled CHI therapists who use direct, deep pressure in slow, focused movements to enhance muscle function and promote well-being. The Men’s Executive Facial gives an instant boost for skin by exfoliating and brightening with products and technique customized for male skin.
“Shangri-La Head to Toe” is a 75-minute treatment (CAD$150 plus tax) that begins with a CHI foot ritual to relieve tension and stress by applying pressure to key acupressure points. This is followed by a Vitalizing Summer Facial with Eminence Organic products, and the finale is a head massage to stimulate the body’s own natural healing. In a short period of time, guests will be pleasantly tingling, from head to toe.
