Legacy Liquor Store Grand Opening

While most of Vancouver was busy complaining about the cold and worrying about the soon to fall snow, members of the liquor community were checking out the opening for the newest and biggest BC private liquor store, Legacy Liquor Store in the Millenium Village.  While the Village itself is having rather noticeable problems selling the housing, Legacy’s liquor is probably just what the developers will head to take the edge off their financial woes.

The store is managed by Darryl Lamb and the lovely Amorita Bastaja and they are off to a good start in the 8600 ft. square space.  Beer, wine and spirits galore, along with  a full kitchen and event space should bring in buyers from near and far.  It’ll be a while before the actual village is populated, so it will be a challenge for the store to entice liquor buyers to travel to the location.  However, this will be bonus for consumers as the events planned will have to be worth attending and there’s the added draw of valet parking. Coming events here.

The opening saw tasty snacks served by caterer The Modern Chef and wine, scotch and beer were poured to the crowd of wine agents, and friends and family of the Granville Entertainment Group, the company behind the store.  Fiona Forbes of Urban Rush announced the opening and Champagne sabering topped off the day.  The store is open to the public November 25.

I would like to add that OpenSpace Architecture was the design team who brought this store to life.
It is a fantastic space, and we are very proud of it. The guys at Granville Entertainment had a bold vision, and spent a lot bringing this baby to life.
I recommend visiting the store, its like a Toys R Us for adults, I have been many times since the opening and find it fun to browse the isle looking at the huge selection of products. Its well worth the visit.
